History made as BFA Sports Takes the Field with Troost Ekong Foundation for Charity Football Match

The Troost Ekong Foundation's launch was not just an announcement, it was a historic experience orchestrated by BFA Sports, chaired by Bobo Ajudua. The highlight? A star-studded charity football match that brought together legends, rising stars, and Nigerian celebrities for a night of philanthropy and athleticism.

Championing Young Nigerian Talent

Founded by Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong, the foundation aims to empower young Nigerian talents. This first-of-its-kind African launch event featured a charity match unlike any other. Legendary Nigerian footballers, international African stars, and A-list Nigerian celebrities united for a good cause. The electrifying game not only entertained, but also raised awareness for the foundation's critical goals: improving education, promoting skill development in Akwa Ibom, and building a future talent-grooming facility.

"We have a clear roadmap," said Troost-Ekong. "We've divided our goals into achievable short-term steps and ambitious long-term aspirations."

To kick start this initiative, the strategy is to adopt the least developed and equipped orphanages, improve standard of living and introduce structured and practical skill acquisition programmes.

A Night to Remember: Football Meets Charity

The match boasted a dazzling line-up, featuring names like Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Poco Lee, Kelechi Iheanacho, Falz, Teezee, Natse Jemide, Vincent Enyeama, Stanley Nwabali, Carl Ikeme, Abu Azeez, and many more. Donning lemon and orange jerseys provided by Puma Nigeria, the teams even saw Troost-Ekong showcase his skills on both sides!

By halftime, about 19,000 people were seated at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, at no charge, to support the launch and be entertained by their favourite stars. The crowd enjoyed special performances by the most celebrated indigenous rapper in the region, Ikpa Udoh, and one of Willam's favourite rappers, Odumodublvck.

Supporters at home and in other global regions were not left out as BFA Sports, led by Adebayo Akande, secured Propel Sports as streaming partners.

After a joy and tension filled game, Sabinus secured the "man of the match" title, while Poco Lee reigned supreme as the top scorer.

The event gathered a lot of organic media coverage as entertaining clips of the charity match went viral. Targeted media efforts recorded over 20 million online engagements across all platforms.

BFA Sports: The Master Managers

BFA Sports' project management expertise played a pivotal role in ensuring the launch's flawless execution. From venue selection and player recruitment to event promotion, brand partnerships, and media relations, their team handled it all.

"We meticulously brought William's vision to life," said Bobo Ajudua, William's brand manager, and principal partner at The BFA group. "The launch was a historic moment, and the foundation's mission truly inspires us."

In a press conference held at the Goswill Akpabio International Stadium, the BFA Sports spokesperson, Ima Elijah, noted the support the foundation launch had gained from global brands. She thanked the official sponsors of the event, Noones App, and recognised the support of Puma Nigeria and Hartford Fund in making the event a successful run.

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, also showed commitment to this project by providing access to facilities and pledging a sum of N20,000,000 to the Troost Ekong Foundation at the post-event fundraiser dinner.

In his closing remark, Ajudua highlighted the power of collaboration: "This event is a testament to the impact created when project management expertise meets a passionate social cause. We look forward to continuing this partnership with the Troost Ekong Foundation and other charity projects aimed at improving the future of Nigerian Talents."

BFA Sports remains committed to supporting impactful initiatives and leveraging their expertise to create positive change.
